Sports Development
The Fund and KAVC entered into a partnership in 2008 to promote the development of the game of volleyball, which was at that stage, lagging behind other sports. This partnership has been realised through the NSSF KAVC International volleyball championship. Since then, the NSSF KAVC International is one of the biggest Volleyball tournaments in the region. The tournament draws in teams from the East African Community like Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Somalia and Democratic Republic of Congo.
It has helped expose Ugandan teams to top level competition in the region. Ugandan teams that compete on the continent – in Rwanda, Kenya and the Africa Club Championships have improved year on year. Ugandan players have joined professional ranks in Europe and Asia as a result of the exposure given by the tournament. The sports fraternity is also much more aware of the importance of social security and the significance of the culture of saving in Uganda both at individual and national level.
The Financial Literacy initiative is tailored to provide a platform where professional finance, investment and business solutions can be accessed by NSSF members. We also aim at empowering NSSF to make better finance decisions upon receipt of their NSSF savings
