In Uganda, 90 per cent of people are suffering from the effects of poor oral hygiene that results into tooth aches and other dental-related diseases, according to a 2014 research from Mulago Dental School. These are mostly prevalent among the poor or under privileged communities.
The Fund in partnership with Rotary Club of Kampala North has for the last eight years provided free dental services at an annual dental camp held at Mulago Dental School.
The camp reaches out to people living in the communities of Kamwokya, Kyebando, Bwaise, Kawaala, Mulago, Kivulu, Katanda, Kaleerwe, who cannot afford oral health services easily. Services provided at the camp include screening, filling, tooth decay extraction, oral education among others. Over 6,000 people have benefited from this initiative
